AimTo provide a place to race enabling the enthusiast to step up from Club and State level competition to National level in a cost effective ‘no thrills’ Series with Manufacturers’ support.Mission StatementTo deliver to the competitor enjoyment through racing their Porsche in an economically sustainable way.Description of SeriesThe Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia is modeled on the internationally endorsed Porsche series of the same name. The category is professionally administered, however, the primary objective is to provide a cost effective place to ‘race with your mates’ with simple rules & regulations, value for money and a real focus on fair and enjoyable Porsche motor sport.Eligible CompetitorsTo be an eligible competitor the person must:Not be a ‘seeded’ driver Hold a CAMS minimum PC licence *(NC for Rd 1, 2010 at Mt Panorama, Bathurst) Vehicle EligibilityThe Category features the Porsche GT3 Cup car Type 997 as the benchmark vehicle. 996 GT3 Cup car’s and all normally aspirated Porsche models (996 and earlier) are eligible to compete subject to power/weight ratios and they must hold a suitable CAMS logbook.CalendarThere will be 6 rounds for 2010;Round 1 Mt Panorama, NSW Feb 12-13 Round 2 Symmons Plains, TAS April 10-11 Round 3 Mallala, SA May 29-30 Round 4 Morgan Park, QLD Aug 14-15 Round 5 Eastern Creek, NSW Sep11-12 Round 6 Sandown, VIC Oct 23-24 Event FormatSubject to the individual Event Promoters requirements we endeavour to have the following format;FridayBump-in and 2 x 30min practice sessions (not compulsory)Saturday1 x 20min Practice session1 x 20min Qualifying session 1 x 20min Race Sunday2 x 20min Races (or a combined minimum of 1 hour race time per round)Costs & InclusionsWith the primary objective being cost containment, entry fees have been capped at $1500 + GST for Rounds 2-6* and will include the following;Entry fee Garaging or Marquee hire Friday practice TV coverage (30min post-produced program on free-to-air and cable) Trophies Porsche Spare Parts truck at each round *The cost for Round 1, Mt Panorama, Bathurst is $2,500 + GST with a 30min post-produced TV program being aired on Network Seven.
